We are disappointed with the way the Kilkenny Team performed last Sunday , but they were not good enough on the day, so lets go for next year.

We were dissapointed with the loss of the Five in a Row, this year but the Kilkenny Team were not play well enough to win, so we do not have any problem with the result, come on for next year Lads.

We have put a new website together it is nearly completed so have a look and if you feel that we need to change or make it better please let us know.
We have also painted the railings on the front of the Lodge, it is a 'Labour of Love' as it takes a lot of prepairing and then applying the paint, this was made more easy this year with the good fine weather. We hope that it will last for a few years before it needs another coat.
We are getting a 'Gardner ' in to help with design of the Garden and have it more easily managed.
It is small but enclosed a good holding pen for children.
The Solar panels are working well but we had to have the control panels replaced as they were not working at their best, but it is great to have hot water nearly for free from the Sun, this is part of our efforts to make our premises more 'Eco' friendly, this coupled with our recycling bins where we recycle all left overs, e.g bottles, plastic and we are now only putting less than 33% into Landfill.
Our next part of the Project is to install a woodchip burner, this we hope to start on this Autumn, it will make our heating totally sourced from the Farm and will not be dependent on Fossil Fuels ever again for Heating, this is a major cost and will have a pay back of Ten (10) years which could be argued that it is not worth the cost or effort, but we are determined to proceed.

We are also offering Dancing to our guests, that is Sean Nós ( old Irish) and Set/Step dancing, this can be done in the evenings etc.

We have also the facility to teach instruments either Piano accordion or other Irish associated ones.

We are steeped in Celtic culture and involved in Celtic Festivals and our Heritage, so to this end we are promoting all things Celtic/Irish, we have suggested tours of the are that will give the visitor places and things to see and do that they would not see if they were traveling on their own or with some other tour operator . These packages are available on request.

The area is full of things to do and see from walks to places to visit most of these are free!!!!!!

We are re branding our package.

We are now putting together a cycling package, either use our place as a base or rent bicycles from us we can bring your luggage to or from a point, there are new cycle routes in our area on mainly country roads or we are able to offer you specific package to your needs.

We are also offering Fishing that is drying room again use our premises as a base or book the room for storage ar drying there are laundry facilities etc. available.

We are also providing walks on the farm which goes down to a river, it is quiet and tranquil there no sounds of cars etc. except for the Natural sounds, like birds and bees.

We are now in the process of installing a woodchip burner to make our existing facility more environmentally friendly, (we installed Solar panels on the roofs about four years ago, these are working well , they give hot water even in Winter.)this will use timber sourced on our extensive farm, which is mainly Crops,we are Eco-tillage ( Minimum Tillage ) for about 20 years, we are hoping to go to Direct Drilling this Autumn.

Set in the rich countryside of County Kilkenny just 3km from Paulstown, Gowran and Goresbridge in the very heart of Ireland's "sunny south-east", our unique stone lodge is available for weekends, holidays and extended stays throughout the year.
